Anti-Racism Resources
The goal of Fix Our Earth is to convince you to take personal action against climate change and environmental degradation. You cannot be pro-environment without understanding how environmental issues disproportionately affect black and brown communities. If you have not participated in anti-racist work before, now is the time to start. Silence and neutrality are not acceptable. The murder of black people is embedded in this country’s history. What happened to George Floyd is not “shocking” because it is reality. If you are surprised, then you aren’t paying attention. It’s up to us to be staunchly anti-racist, to educate ourselves, and to condemn all forms of racism in any way we encounter them.
If you are feeling discomfort right now, let’s lean into it together. I am uncomfortable, but my discomfort does not matter more than the discomfort and fear black people live in everyday. Use these resources as a guide to learn more and take action.
